Video-Numbers

Here's a video using flashcards for numbers 1, 2 and 3 (2.5-3 years old). I try to speak mostly in Spanish but, sometimes I have to say instructions or commands in English. Usually towards the end of the school year most of the class is in Spanish. Remember at this age most children are learning the number symbol, they can count to 10 but they don't always know which number is which. I have children that know the symbol for each number in Spanish better than in English ;)

Actions

Back from our early spring break. Monday we learnt actions/verbs. We started with 6: walk, jump, run, listen, read and yell. The children loved doing the motions. Try to use face motions and body motions, that helps the children remember the words. On Wednesday we'll learn: play, eat, cry, talk, sleep and write. I'll post a video soon.

Spring break

This week I am off, we have an early "Spring break" at school so I will be working on creating materials. Check my website often for new free printouts and new materials.

Months

This week we are working on the months. I printed 12 cakes (one for each month) and one candle for each child. Then I wrote the children names on the candles. They took turns finding the cake that belonged to their birthday month and glued the cake on top.
For the little ones you may need to get their birthday information ahead of time. After we were done with the candles we talked about each month (celebrations, etc).
