Montessori Spanish materials

I've been working on materials I am going to take to the 2010 AMI Montessori Conference this October. I am happy to say that they're looking really good! I will post some pictures as soon as I figure out the label format.
Back to work! Blog you later...

Spanish at home

I've been trying to speak more Spanish at home, I even put signs all over the house to remind everyone that we should speak in Spanish as much as possible this month. As I mention before we will be visiting my family in July.
My nephews speak a little bit of English since they are learning it in school but it'll be nice if my kids can communicate with them in Spanish.
My oldest one (9) understands everything I say to him, he just refuses to speak it. He's such a perfectionist! If it doesn't come out right the first time he convinces himself he can't do it! Just like his father :).

Bilingual kids

OK, my kids are refusing to speak Spanish. They were doing it during the school year and they seem to enjoy practicing with their teacher Miss Judy. But now, if I speak to them in Spanish they ask me to "say it in English".
Arghhh! I am going to start only Spanish rule when it's only me and them, once dad gets home we can go back to English.
It's specially frustrating since we're going to Mexico in July and it'll be nice if they can communicate with their cousins :)
