Parts of the face

This week we studied the parts of the face: ojos, nariz, boca, orejas & cabello. I used a face drawing that I made that has removable parts. Then I used Mr. Potato head to practice vocabulary. I have 4 heads so, each kid was able to get their own! After, we used plates (leftover from a party) to draw a face, then I wrote the name of the parts. Here are some pictures!

I am always in the search for new and exciting materials to practice Spanish with my children. I decided to post some of the stuff I found for you to take advantage. Feel free to share if you find something you think we all can use.

I just went to Michael's and here's what I found in the $1 bin.

Faces sticker book, has 282 stickers!!! great for parts of the face, also you can use it to create family puppets or feelings.

Numbers bingo, great for numbers practice and the kids love it!

And the best of all for a dollar each! Other good stores to try are the Dollar store, Walmart and the Target $1 bin. Good luck hunting!

La cara

I introduced la cara using flashcards, then on a piece of white construction paper I made an oval and had the children take turns drawing the parts of the face: los ojos, la nariz, la boca, el cabello and las orejas. I made labels and again, the children took turns placing the labels next to the correct part.
